New Beretta USA Website
Posted by Noah | Filed under firearms, technology
Recently Beretta USA launched their new online shopping extravaganza (for Americans but I use it to look up specs). I have to say it’s a HUGE improvement over the old site, MUCH faster, however it’s still a typical ASP pile of shyte site. When you click links on the navigation to go to the sections you want in new tabs you instead end up with javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$SideMenu$TreeView1','s2100000084\\3100001364\\3100001367') Which of course simply constructs a URL and sends you there. Someone needs to introduce gun manufacturers to proper website design
You can see the new site at https://www.shopberetta.com/

Spork You Rogers Wireless

Your website is so slow, perhaps it was written by high school interns, perhaps it’s administered by Chimpanzee. It’s not like you have that complex of apps or all that many simultaneous users, you simply don’t have that many customers; you really don’t, Facebook does, you do not. Furthermore it does not work properly, sometimes it doesn’t let me sign in, even if I copy and paste the password from a plain text field and then magically it will work other times.
If I didn’t like my iPhone so much I’d leave you. If Apple ever gets their collective head out of their wallet and realizes consumers like choice and long term growth depends on long term loyatly of mavens, I’m going to leave you for another I’m sure equally as crummy provider.
Furthermore, CRTC, you suck too. Thank you oh so much for stopping competition in the communications market place, I hope you all look at your cellular bills and cry out of shame.

One of the Best Technology Presentations

Guy Steele gave one of the best technology presentations 10 years ago and if you’re as geeky as I am you might quite like it. If you find he speaks very poorly you’ll see why about seven minutes in, but you have to watch it all before then. Growing A Language by Guy Steele
