The Shotgun blog has dug up a very scary painting of Obama
Actually the painting itself isn’t scary so much as that people are actually making these sorts of things. They (not necessarily this particular artist) really do think he’s some kind of do-no-wrong messiah.
Personality cult much?

November 13th, 2008 at 8:55 amI think in this case it’s less the personality cult and more the eccentricity of the artist. Most of Alex Grey’s work revolves around the “third eye”, so really this is just par for the course for him. Not denying there are some fairly lofty expectations for this President, but I think this is more of an isolated instance as far as very strange art goes.
