Firearms

For information on how to get a gun (firearm) in Canada please click here.
I love firearms! No that doesn’t mean I want people getting shot. But I do enjoy sport shooting, both target shooting and hunting, and I believe every human being has the right to self defense.
I also love the physics, guns are a fantastic example of Newtonian physics, I especially like guns which fire very heavy rounds slowly rather than light rounds at high speed.
So which ones do I really like? It’s getting to be quite a long list… I don’t necessarily want all of these, there are some that if I had one or another I wouldn’t care about another one; and I certainly don’t intend to buy most of them. Many are exceedingly expensive, and some are not available to own either in Canada or the USA (and I don’t foresee moving somewhere else).
Here’s the list, items in bold are ones I already own. Items in italic are ones I plan to buy sooner rather than later. Items with a red line next to them are prohibited (not generally available for public ownership in Canada), a yellow line means you need a restricted permit (which I have) and you can only use these guns at an approved range, a green line means the gun in non-restricted and can be purchased with an ordinary PAL. A blue line means the legal standing is un-clear because of our terrible laws and you may or may, not be able to own it, and some people may be able to and other people may not be able to (real fair and balanced eh?).
